Hi friends!
We just wanted to take a moment to talk about the importance of exercise and moving your body daily.
Exercise has so many amazing benefits for our physical and mental health. It can help us maintain a healthy weight, lower our risk of chronic diseases, improve our mood, and boost our energy levels.
Even if you can’t commit to a full workout every day, there are so many small ways to incorporate movement into your routine. Take a walk around your neighbourhood, do some stretches while you watch TV, or dance to your favourite music while cooking.
Hubby and I recently (I mean maybe almost a year ago haha) got fitness watches (and no, they didn’t cost an arm or a leg) and have been loving how it helps us keep track of our daily activity levels. It’s been a game-changer for our fitness journey!
Not only does it track our steps, but it also monitors our heart rate, calories burned, and even our sleep patterns. It’s amazing to see how all of these factors play into our overall health and wellness.
The watch also sends me reminders to move throughout the day, which is great for those of us who have a desk job or tend to be sedentary (LIKE ME). Fortunately for hubby, his job keeps him moving all day. For my sake, it helps me stay accountable and ensures that I’m getting up and moving every hour.
If you’re looking for a way to stay on top of your fitness goals, we highly recommend investing in a fitness watch or using the health app on your smartphone device. If you can’t find a health app on your phone, simply download one from the Play Store or Apple Store. I have a Samsung smartphone, so have downloaded the Samsung Health app. Struggling to install it? Let us know and we’ll assist.
It’s a small but powerful tool that can make a big difference in your health and well-being.
It’s recommended that we aim for 10,000 steps a day, which can seem like a daunting goal at first.
Tracking my daily steps using the step counter on my fitness watch is extremely encouraging. I’ve been amazed at how motivating it is to see how much I’m actually moving throughout the day!
By simply tracking steps, I’ve become more aware of opportunities to move more throughout the day.
Whether it’s taking the stairs instead of the elevator, going for a quick walk during my lunch break, or simply pacing around while on a phone call, every step counts!
We encourage you all to give it a try and see how it can help you stay more active and mindful of your daily movement. Let’s step up our game together! 💪
What do you do to keep moving and active throughout the day?
